This beautiful re-publication of the Monastic Diurnal by Saint Michael’s Abbey Press (Farnborough) is a wonderful resource for all who wish to draw on the riches of the traditional Benedictine Office. It is ideal for visitors to a monastery eager to follow the Divine Office as also for laymen, or oblates who desire to pray the Office on their own.

Containing the hours of Lauds, Prime, Terce, Sext, None, Vespers and Compline, this edition is a reprint of the 1963 Diurnal published by the monks of Collegeville. Providing the office in Latin and English in parallel columns for all the feasts and seasons in the traditional Benedictine calendar, this volume is printed in black and red throughout; all the rubrics are also given in English.

Bound in leather, made with gilt edges and six ribbons, this truly handsome book fits well into the hand and is even slimmer than most hand missals for the traditional Mass. The latest edition (pictured) comes with a hard slip-case for protection.
